BJP 2008 shaped

I am very late for the BJP 2010, January page is still waiting. I have too many works in progress and exhibitions to preparing. But I don't give up. I think I would present you my first work in some weeks. While waiting, I ended the shaping of the 12 works of the BJP 2008. You can see the painting here as well as some textile jewels made this winter.

from Dees

Dear all,

I have nominated each and every one of you for the Kreative Blogger award. It was given to me by one of us, Lisa Criswell from Indigo’s beads. If you want to take this further, please visit my blog at www.dees-wipworkinprogress.blogspot.com and read all about it. I thought it would be fun to share this joy with all of you who love beading and the BJP as much as I do. You all deserve it!

March Piece Completed

And now for something completely different. Please view my blog, sydsider, to see that I have no idea where I am going with my beading, but will continue to experiment.
I must abmit that I am finding this harder than I expected. It is very confronting and a challenge. I think that creating something from nothing but a bit of fabric, some thread and a limited variety of beads, with an infinite number of ways of putting them together, is a little over whelming.
But I will plug on.
PS. Love all your work....very inspiring.

April BJP - installment 4 - Hips! Hips! Hooray for Roses!

Since my bird garden is festooned with daffodils in April it's only fitting that my April BJP be a goldfinch. I know that without this project I would have NEVER gotten around to documenting the development of my garden for the birds and how it changed my life... My first plan was to use part of the story with each finished bird but now thinking I'm going to use the birds for a cover for a book about the garden... Go to my blog to see the goldfinch and installment 4 - Hips! Hips! Hooray for Roses!

Finally finished my Feb. piece!

This one was quite the project! Allot of blood and sweat went into this one. It was hard on the eyes and fingers but I hope it was all worth the effort. I think I will simplify my March project! You can see my piece here....http://unnur-threadpaintandbeads.blogspot.com/ Thank you for your patience!

January finishings

I have a picture of my January beaded piece sitting on the front of the journal cover. I have a question of how to attach it to the cover so I would appreciate any comments or advice. You can find my blog here.

Thanks. Happy Beading!
Cindy

I Thought I Was Done With February...

But now I have a problem.  Silly me, I should have known that I couldn't get away with beading only one side of the vessel.  Well, at least side 1 is finished!  To hear more about my dilemma and see the finished first side, you can go to my blog.

February Side 1

Methinks I've made my bead journal pages a bit too ambitious - but that seems to be the way I've approached projects most of my life.  I'm finding that now that I'm back in high tech, I'm doing the same thing with software.  Somebody, please... kick my butt and remind me that I don't have to build the biggest bestest strongest all-encompassing does-everything-for-everyone whatever-it-is-that-I'm-building in the world!  :-D

And after writing that crazy last sentence, I've decided to keep my March vessel fairly simple.  It'll be a challenge sticking to that decision, yep.

Inspiration

A friend sent me Karens Whimsy website today, and on it I found this tribute Karen made to her mother, who died of Alzheimer's. Karen noticed that her mom arranged little artistic arrangements of seeds, flowers and stems in the garden. Karen photographed them and made a video that you can read about here and see here. You may need Firefox instead of Internet Explorer to view the video. This is so moving, and offers a touching and thought-provoking reflection on the meaning of art.

March Goddess = Beading Challenge

My friend Kat & I belong to the local "Beadaholiques" group, anyone who wanted could join in on the bead challenge with offerings of 3 beads a piece.  At the time I didn't have a clue what I wanted to make, so I decided to incorporate it into my March Goddess BJP

A Tiny Bit More Progress...

In the midst of my chaotic (right now) life, I've done another bit of beading on my 2 vessels.  I am SO enjoying this process.  Thank you Robin for starting this project!  It was the impetus I needed to put to use those books that have been in my library for some time now.  And it seems that new ideas keep flying into my brain - how cool is that?!
